Hi everyone,
This post is a little late for my liking for this summers eclipses but I suppose better to post this now rather than not at all. Here are the Important Birthdays for the upcoming total solar eclipse at 10 Cancer 38 happening on July 2nd, 2019 and for the partial lunar eclipse at 24 Capricorn 04 on July 16th, 2019. Remember that eclipses tend to produce crisis points in our lives. Solar eclipses tend to represent more obvious happenings and situations, while lunar eclipses are more emotional in nature. The conjunction and opposition are more powerful in their meaning and effect for those with important planets and points at the eclipse degrees in question. Squares can being annoying, give us energy or give a sense that we are being stopped for some reason. When an eclipse makes a square to your Sun, then you may feel like taking action on something or feel as though you need to be somewhere else but then notice that it is not the right time or situation to do so and this can be frustrating.
If you have a planet or point on an eclipse degree, especially the Sun, Moon, Ascendant or MC, then you will want to take notice of what is going on around you for around a month or so leading up to the eclipse. Eclipses tend to have adverse energetic effects on our awareness and sense of what is happening around us. Often, there is a feeling of being “blindsided.” This is not about fear or being overly concerned but rather of just being prepared and being generally aware of these powerful astrological energies that affect all of us.

Pluto is at the midpoint of Mercury and the solar eclipse (that means both the Sun and Moon) for the July 2nd eclipse chart with a very close 9 minute orb (less than .2 degrees). From an energy process perspective, this represents a very strong urge and compulsion to dig deep and to communicate and/or research what one is feeling and going through at this time. This will be an interesting time for discovery and recognition of what is deep lurking inside of us. It may be a time to discuss and talk about these things. Others may not like the feelings that we have or how they are expressed. A sense of an extreme need to protect one’s point of view may emerge as well.
The nodal trigger point for the July 2nd solar eclipse happens when the Moon’s true node crosses the eclipse point on October 28th, 2019 and is effective for about the week before through the week after with a one degree orb. These times have been known to produce events, so if you are having difficulty or even improvements with a particular situation around the time of this eclipse, then look to this time or around this time for resolution points to what is going on.
For the lunar Eclipse on July 16th, the Sun and Moon (both in opposition, hence the eclipse) are at the Mercury and Venus midpoint with a 10 minute orb (less than .2 degrees). Pluto is not too far away for the Moon and if that wasn’t enough, Mercury is at the Mars and Sun midpoint. I think what we’re seeing here is a highlighted Mercury focused on getting a message out, perhaps of what was appreciated. As the Moon is at the south node, this is ultimately about emotionally letting go, so following along with the logic of Mercury and Venus getting into the mix, this is a kind of sweet goodbye of sorts, or at least a goodbye to the way that things once were. With this one, the nudge from Mars goes a long way with activating Mercury to communicate with less than a quarter of a degree orb. So, some significant and important communications will be born out of this lunar eclipse, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be nasty or aggressive. I think that Mercury and Venus will soften the blow on this one, so that is a plus.
The nodal trigger for the lunar eclipse was on March 23rd, 2019, so look back to around the end of March or the beginning of April for a significant event that may provide some clues to the lunar eclipse and emotional themes that are popping up around the time of the eclipse in mid July. The time between the solar and lunar eclipse is especially interesting and of note. Also, keep in mind that the times are not “exact” all of the time but sometimes they are. There is a wiggle room and a time factor here at work. The rule of thumb is about a month on either side of each eclipse in question and especially about a month leading up to the time of the eclipse.
Overall, Cancer is an emotional sign and most of those reading this would agree, especially those astrologers out there who pay attention to signs. Cancer also likes it’s comfort zones (who doesn’t?) but it is especially important to Cancer, as these comfort zones are a symptom of overall well being for oneself and ones family, which is of utmost importance to this sign and what it cares about. Now, eclipses are disruptive to this process. But it’s ok as we do get through them and their energy does not last forever. Let me know if you have any questions about any of this. Next time, expect another article on what astrologers are facing out there today. I do have some topics in mind but I am open for suggestions, so if you have any, then please send me a message through the contact form above. Many thanks and many blessings to everyone.
